Efrain and Fernie are on a road trip. Each of them drives at a constant speed. Efrain is a safe driver and travels 45 miles per

hour for the entire road trip. Fernie is not such a safe driver. He drives 70 miles per hour throughout the road trip. Fernie and Efrain left from the same location, but Efrain left at 8:00 a.m .,and Fernie left at 11:00 a.m. Assuming they take the same route, write the linear equation that represents Efrain's constant speed. Make sure to include in your equation the extra time that Efrain was able to travel.

Answer:

Call Fernie's time is F

We have: 75 × F = (ROUTE'S DISTANCE)

So: 45 × [F + (11 - 8)] = 45 × (F + 3) = (ROUTE'S DISTANCE)

so: 45 × (F + 3) = 75 × F

45F + 135 = 75F

30F = 135 so F = 4.5 (hours)

So Efrain's time = F + 3 = 4.5 + 3 = 7.5 (hours)

A baker sells cookies for $1.50 each. If a minimum of two dozen cookies is ordered, the baker gives a 40% discount for each cook
kenny6666 [7]
I don't see the expression below.
Since the 40% discount applies to the number of cookies sold above 2 dozen, or 24, then if the number of cookies is c, then c - 24 is the number of cookies above 2 dozen. Answer is B.

Two students, Matt and Billy , each calculated the volume of a spherical ball with a dime tee of 15 centimeters. Their work is s
Aleksandr-060686 [28]

Answer:

Matt ;

Used diameter of the ball instead of Radius

Step-by-step explanation:

The volume of a sphere is given as :

4/3πr³

Radius, r = diameter / 2

Given that, the diameter = 15 cm ; The Radius = 15 / 2 = 7.5 cm

Matt made an error in his calculation by failing to covert the value of the diameter given to Radius.

By dividing the diameter by 2 = 15 / 2 = 7.5, we obtain the Radius, which is what Billy did in her own calculation.

What’s the area of 36 square meters perimeter of 30 meters what’s the width and length of those?
Anvisha [2.4K]
≠ means not equal to
L x w = 36
2L + 2w = 30

1. Find the multiples of 36

1 and 36
2 and 18
3 and 12
4 and 9
6 and 6

2. Figure out which set of numbers multiplied by 2 equals 30.

For 1 and 36:
2(1) + 2(36) = 2 + 72 = 74 ≠ 30

For 2 and 18:
2(2) + 2(18) = 4 + 32 = 36 ≠ 30

For 3 and 12:
2(3) + 2(12) = 6 + 24 = 30

So your answer is 3 and 12
