To get 13 feet, it needs to jump 6 and 1/2 jumps, but to get the smallest number past 13, 7 jumps are needed to get a distance of 14 feet

13/2 = 6.5

Since a frog cannot do a half jump (0.5 is a half jump), then it needs to be rounded up to 7 and so the frog needs 7 jumps to cover at least 13 feet

Consider the statement "If Oscar eats Chinese food, then he drinks milk." a. Write the converse of the statement. b. Write the c
m_a_m_a [10]

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided statement.

"If Oscar eats Chinese food, then he drinks milk."

Here p is Oscar eats Chines food and q is he drinks milk.

Converse is interchange the two statement.

Converse: "If Oscar drinks milk, then he eats Chinese food"

Contrapositive is negative both statement and interchanges them.

Part (b) Contrapositive: "If Oscar doesn't drink milk, then he doesn't eat Chinese food"

Part ( c) If the provided statement is true, then the contrapositive is always true because contrapositive is logically equivalent to the provided statement. If provided statement is false, then the contrapositive is always false.

Part (d) let the original statement is true, and we know that Oscar drinks milk, then we still would not be able to make any conclusion about his Chinese food eating habits.

Because the statement is true if "Oscar eats Chinese food" is true Oscar may or may not eat chines food.

The above converse may be false.

Part (e) Suppose the original statement is true, and that Oscar does not drink milk. It means Oscar doesn't eat Chinese food. Because if Oscar eats Chinese food, then according to the truth of the original statement "Oscar drinks milk" to be true which is the contradiction.

Thus, Oscar doesn't eat Chinese food.

Is x = -4 a solution to these equations? Show your work and write YES or NO.
Serga [27]

Answer:

1. Yes

2. No

3. Yes

Step-by-step explanation:

We have three equations where x is equal to -4. We are then asked if -4 are a solution to these equations.

To solve we need to substitute the x in every equation for -4. Start :

1.

3(2(-4) - 4) = -36

3(-8 - 4) = -36

-24 - 12 = -36

Therefore -4 is a solution.

2.

5(-4) - 6(-4) - (-4) = 18

-20 + 24 + 4 = 18

4 + 4 = 18

8 ≠ 18

Therefore -4 is not a solution.

3.

5 - 2(3(-4) - 1) = 31

5 - 2(-12 - 1) = 31

5 - 2(-13) = 31

5 + 26 = 31

Therefore -4 is a solution.
