Answer:  People didn't cross picket lines to show solidarity in an attempt for better wages, better working conditions and various other things that would or could make their lives better.

Explanation:  Back in the 50's and 60's when unions were very strong, you were considered a "scab" if you crossed a picket line.  You took a chance of being hurt, harassed by other strikers and you showed you were not a team player.

One reason that protestors may have chosen nonviolent methods
joja [24]
The correct answer is generate support among the public.

It wasn't a very good method of retaliation but it was a great method of standing up for your beliefs. It showed that the people are good and peaceful and only want their rights. If they had been violent, the public would've looked at them as savages who loot and break things.

Why was the Union military interested in controlling Louisiana during the Civil War? A.)They would have a plentiful food supply
garri49 [273]

Answer:

Answer is Option B: They knew the lower Mississippi River was an important strategic location.

Explanation:

Control of the Mississippi River during the American Civil War was a crucial factor for both the North and the South. The river was an essential channel for the farmers who shipped their goods by the Gulf of Mexico to the eastern states.

The Union wanted to capture the Mississippi river along the southern positions.  It tried to capture the New Orleans port and move North. They then joined Grant's army and head South of the river. Since it was a good location strategically, Union was interested in Louisiana during Civil war.
