Exposition - The chorus describes the longstanding feud between the Capulets and the Montagues.

Exposition - Romeo is depicted as a dreamy lovesick teenager.

Rising Action - Romeo and Juliet see each other at the Capulets' ball and fall in love at first sight.

Rising Action - Juliet sends her nurse to Romeo to find out the wedding plans.

Climax - Romeo kills Tybalt to avenge Mercutio.

Climax - Romeo is banished from Verona for killing Tybalt.

Falling Action - Juliet's father decides she should marry Paris.

Falling Action - Friar Lawrence comes up with a plan to help Juliet reunite with Romeo.

Denouement - Juliet stabs herself with Romeo's dagger.

Denouement - The Friar explains the story of Romeo and Juliet to the Prince and their families.
