2.95 is the cost of each fish sandwich because 14.30 minus 2.50 is 11.80 and 11.80 divided by 4 is 2.95.

First of all, i will start by representing the unknown value by x. The fish sandwich is represented by x. Anyway, you ordered 4 fish sandwiches which means 4 multiplied by x, which is 4x. The cost of the hamburger is $2.50 and the total bill, which is the fish sandwich plus the hamburger is $14.30. This can be represented mathematically by;
4x+2.50=14.30
     Now, you have to subtract 2.50 from the both sides. That will be;
4x+2.50-2.50=14.30-2.50   (2.50-2.50 is 0 and 14.30-2.50 is 11.8)
 Therefore;
4x=11.8
  Divide the both sides by 4. That will be;
x=2.95. (4 divided by 4 1 and 11.8 divided by 4 is 2.95)
 So the fish sandwich cost $2.95
  Hope i helped.

13. Given the volume, V, of the rectangular prism below, find h, the height of the prism. V = (x ^ 2 + 2x)/(x + 1) l= 2x + 4 w=
NikAS [45]

Given:

Volume of a rectangular prism is:

V=\dfrac{x^2+2x}{x+1}

Dimensions of the rectangular prism are:

l=2x+4

w=\dfrac{x}{8}

To find:

The height of the rectangular prism.

Solution:

The volume of a rectangular prism is:

V=l\times w\times h

After substituting the values, we get

\dfrac{x^2+2x}{x+1}=(2x+4)\times \dfrac{x}{8}\times h

\dfrac{x(x+2)}{x+1}=\dfrac{2x(x+2)}{8}\times h

\dfrac{x(x+2)}{x+1}\times \dfrac{8}{2x(x+2)}=h

\dfrac{1}{x+1}\times \dfrac{8}{2}=h

\dfrac{4}{x+1}=h

Therefore, the correct option is C.

Consider the function f(x)=3/4x+12 what is the y-intercept of f-1(x)
miskamm [114]

Answer:

y = -16

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x)=3/4x+12 (replace f(x) with y)

y =3/4x+12  (rearrange to express x in terms of y)

y - 12=3/4 x

3/4 x = y - 12

3x = 4(y - 12)

x = (4/3)(y - 12)

x = (4/3)y - (4/3)(12)

x = (4/3)y - 16

f^{-1} (y) = (4/3)y - 16

f^{-1} (x) = (4/3)x - 16

comparing to general form

y = mx + b where b is the y-intercept

b = -16

Hence the y-intercept is y = -16

The ratios of the measure of two supplementary angles is 5:7. What is the
Rama09 [41]

Answer:

105 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

You first add 5 and 7 which gives you 12. Then, since two supplementary angles add up to 180, you divide 180 by 12 which gives you 15. Next, since 7 is the larger of the two, multiply 7 by 15 giving you 105. To check your work, subtract 105 from 180 giving you 75. Next, put this as a fraction- 75/105 and simplify giving you 5/7 which can also be written as 5:7.
