Answer:

The article said that Ponyboy and Soda would be put into a boys home and separated from Darry.

Explanation:

The Outsiders is a novel penned by S. E. Hinton. The novel was first published in 1967. The novel narrates the story of Curtis boys who are orphan and a part of a gang called the Greasers. The Curtis Boys, namely, Ponyboy, Soda and Darry struggles to stick together and survive in their society.

<u>When Johnny turned back to church to confess his crime he saw the church burning on flames. At the back of the church, Johnny and Ponyboy found a group of terrified children. They saved the children for which they were praised. The next morning an article was published in which their acts of bravery were praised. The title of the article was "JUVENILE DELINQUENTS TURN HEROES". </u><u>But the thing that disturbed Pony was that the authorities decided to move him and Soda to the boy's home. It was disturbing because this will separate the Curtis boys from each other</u><u>.</u>

Answer:

- 'It said that Soda and Ponyboy might be separated from Darry and put into a boys home.'

Explanation:

The newspaper article aimed to display that Soda and Ponyboy must have been dissociated from Darry and been put into boys' home. It aims to elaborate that Pony has been belonging to an isolated background and thus, urges them to not be isolated from each other. It describes the allegations on him and his brother Johnny for running away. It questions the portrayal of Dally as a hero as Pony being in the boy's home agitates him. Therefore, this article helps in altering the court's decision and both the brothers Johnny and Pony were permitted to stay and live together.

How does the conflict between Helmer’s private and public selves develop the theme that appearances can be deceiving?
pickupchik [31]

Answer:

Helmer acts kindly toward Mrs. Linde while she is present, but insults her when she leaves.

Explanation:

In Henrik Ibsen's realism play "A Doll's House", the main and also recurring theme is that of appearance and reality. The very case of the two conflicting themes is played out in the character of Helmer.

Helmer is the husband of our protagonist Nora. He seems to be the type of man who wants to have full authority over his wife and children. He admonishes Nora even when she wants to buy something for herself. One of the most prominent cases of his contrasting characters is in Act 3 where he acts all so good and gentlemanly with Mrs. Linde, a friend of Nora. She had been waiting for them the whole time they had gone dancing upstairs. But once she leaves, he remarks "<em>at last we have got rid of her. She is a frightful bore, that woman</em>". This shows his differing appearances of when in public and in private.
