Making a decision: Numeric results for several independent samples t test are presented here. Decide whether each test is statis

tically significant, and report each result in the standard APA format.
a. A total of 73 people were studied, 40 in one group and 33 in the other group. The test statistic was calculated as 2.13 for a two-tailed test with a p level of 0.05.
b. One group of 23 people was compared to another group of 18 people. The t statistic obtained for their data was 1.77. Assume you were performing a two-tailed test with a p level of 0.05.
c. One group of nine mice was compared to another group of six mice, using a two-tailed test at a p level of 0.01. The test statistic was calculated as 3.02.

Answer:

Check the explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

a) A total of 73 people were studied, 40 in on group and 33 in the other group.

The test statistic is calculated as 2.13

The critical value fora two-tailed test with a p —level of 0.05 is *1.96

As test statistics value (2.13) is greater than critical value (1.96), So we reject the null hypothesis as test statistic falls in rejection region

Conclusion: Test is statistically significant Null is rejected.

b) One group of 23 people was compared to another group of 18 people.

The test statistic's calculated as 1.77

The critical value fora two tailed test a p —level of 0.05 is 2.0227.

As test statistics value(1.77) is less than the critical value (2.0227), So we fail to reject the null hypothesis as test statistic not fall in rejection region.

Conclusion:Test is statistically not significant Null is accepted

c) One group of 9 mice was compared to another group of 6 mice.

The test statistic is calculated as: 3.02

The critical value fora two tailed test with p —level of 0.01 is :3.0123.

As test statistics value (3.02) is less than the critical value (3.0123), So we fail to reject the null hypothesis as test statistic not fall in rejection region.

Conclusion: Test is statistically not significant Null is accepted.

Can someone help me plzz??
ki77a [65]

Answer:

(0,20)

Step-by-step explanation:

1) we can represent the situation as coordinates

lets have # of texts be "x" variable

lets have bill be "y" as the y variable is always the dependant variable and the cost of the phone bill is dependant upon the number of texts so

y=mx+b-slope-intercept form

coordinates: (50,25) and (100,30)

slope: (30-25)/(100-50)

5/50=1/10

hence slope=1/10

y=1/10x+b

substitute in a coordinate pair into this equation

25=50*1/10+b

25=5+b

b=20

hence y intercept is (0,20)

lions [1.4K]
The answer would be C (P=T/2). This can be explained by examining the ratio. If you were to put in the answer of T = 12, then you would be looking for T/2 or 6, assuming we're giving them each half of the amount original held by grandmother.
