I think that a direct democracy is only workable at a small local level because in big places, there are too many people and a direct democracy cannot take place-
a direct democracy is when yu talk directly about wat yu think and yu express yer opinion that way;
in a smallest local level,every-ones opinion can be heard but it isn't possible when there are too many people; not every-ones opinion will be able to be heard..

so overall; there are too many ppl at the state and national levels to hear every-ones opinion, there needs to be few people to have a direct democracy.

Svetradugi [14.3K]

Answer:

daimyo

Explanation:

The social structure in Japan during the feudal period was an extensive one with numerous hierarchical levels. On top of the hierarchy was the emperor. Just below the emperor were the shoguns, and below the shoguns were placed the daimyo. The daimyo were the vassals. They owned larger lands on which the people below them in the hierarchy worked on. The land the daimyo had was earned, be it because of military actions, or diplomatic skills, but they were also obligated to be loyal to the emperor and always be at his disposal.
