The terrorist´s main goal in committing the September 11, 2001 attacks was to cause terror within the frame of massive casualties in a scenario happenning inside the United States. Seen as a symbolic goal, it is rooted in many causes as stated by some of the terrorists´leaders, like the support of Israel by the United States; United States military presence in Saudi Arabia,etc.
