If there are 200 lunches served than 1% is equal to 2 kids and the first answer choice can only be true if there are 100 lunches served and it’s the same with answer choice 4. So now you are left with answer choice 2 and 3. If 300 lunches are served than 1% is equal to 3 lunches. Now look at answer choice 2. Since both numbers have a zero on the end you can take one zero off of both numbers and you are left with 30 and 12. 3 times what equals 12. 4, right? Now add the zeros back on and divide 120 by 4 to see if it’s the right answer. You will then have your answer That answer should be answer choice 2.

SVEN [57.7K]

Using a system of equations, it is found that £52 was originally shared.

<h3>What is a system of equations?</h3>

A system of equations is when two or more variables are related, and equations are built to find the values of each variable.

In this problem, the variables are given as follows:

  • Variable x: Angela's share.
  • Variable y: Michelle's share.
  • Variable z: Daniel's share.

Angela and Michelle shared some money in the ratio 4: 9, hence, considering t as the total:

  • x = \frac{4t}{13}.
  • y = \frac{9t}{13}

Angela gave Daniel half her share.Michelle gave Daniel a third of her share. Daniel was given a total of £20, hence:

\frac{x}{2} + \frac{y}{3} = 20

\frac{4t}{26} + \frac{9t}{39} = 20

\frac{12t + 18t}{78} = 20

30t = 20 x 78

t = 20 x 78/30

t = £52.

The function, f(x) = –2x2 + x + 5, is in standard form. The quadratic equation is 0 = –2x2 + x + 5, where a = –2, b = 1, and c =
avanturin [10]
Given:

The function, f(x) = -2x^2 + x + 5

Quadratic equation: 0 = -2x^2 + x +5
where a = -2
            b = 1
            c = 5

The discriminate b^2 - 4ac = 41

To solve for the zeros of the quadratic function, use this formula:

x = ( -b +-√ (b^2 - 4ac) ) / 2a

x = ( 1 + √41 ) / 4  or 1.85
x = ( 1 - √41 ) / 4  or -1.35

Therefore, the zeros of the quadratic equation are 1.85 and -1.35.
