1) Work out what 1/5 of 12 is
To do this, we divide 12 by 5
12/5 = 2.4

2) Multiply 2.4 by 15
2.4 x 15 = 36

If you don't like decimals, you can also do it this way...

This can be rewritten as 15 x 1/5 x 12
Multiplications alone can be performed in any order

1) Work out what 1/5 of 15 is
1/5 of 15
15/5 = 3

2) 3 multiplied by 12
3 x 12 = 36

1/5 of 12 as much as 15 times = 36

Further Explanation:

The question given is an example of Number problems. Two major components of mathematical tools would be used to derive answers to similar problem like this. They are Multiplication and Division. Also the given question has an element of Fraction in it.

Fraction can be referred to as a number that has a part of a whole. It always has a numerator and denominator. Numerators are number values that are always on top, while denominators are number values that are always at the bottom. For example 2/4, 54/34

Multiplication can be defined as a process of multiplying several numbers to derive a particular number value(s). It is the process of adding numbers repeatedly in multiple folds. And two or more numbers are usually used to derive further values. And it is usually denoted as “times”. For example 2 x 3 = 6, 2 x 4 x 3 = 24

Division is the process of dividing or splitting number values into several equal parts. Of

Solution:

1 fifth of 12 can be written as 1/5 of 12, and can also be expressed as 1/5 x 12

Since 1/5 is a fraction, and must be multiplied by 12 then…

12 would be multiplied by 1, and then divided by 5 to get another number values

Therefore,

1/5 x 12 = 12/5

 = 2.4

Recall 15 times as much as 1/5 of 12

Since 1/5 of 12 = 2.4

Therefore

15 x 2.4 = 36

Find the length of a square whose area is 0.0084m
TiliK225 [7]

Answer:

.091651514m

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a square is found by

A = s^2 where s is the side length

.0084 = s^2

Take the square root of each side

\sqrt{.0084} = \sqrt{s^2}

.091651514 = s
