We can use the two point form to find the answer:
y1 - y2 = m(x1 - x2)
Where y1 is the y coordinate(coordinate on the right hand side of (-9)) of the of the first coordinates, and y2 is the y coordinates of the second coordinates given (0).

While x1(-9) and x2(-6) are the x-coordinates(left hand side of the coordinates) of the coordinates given seperately.

m is the slope of the two points, and the formula is:
\frac{y1 - y2}{x1 - x2}
In this case:
\frac{ - 9 - ( 0)}{ - 9 - (-6)} \\ = \frac{ - 9 }{ - 9 + 6 } \\ = \frac{ - 9}{ -3 } \\ = 3

We can then proceed to find the eqaution by putting *one* of the points into the two-point formula.

Put (-6,0) into the formula:
-0-y = 3(-6-x)
-y = -18 - 3x
y = -(-18 - 3x)
y = 18 + 3x

Therefore the answer is y= 18+3x.

Hope it helps!

A new shopping mall is gaining in popularity. Every day since it opened, the number of shoppers is 20%, percent more than the nu
Goshia [24]

Answer:

There were 125 shoppers on the first day.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us call the number of shoppers on the first day a_1, then on the <em>n</em>th day the number of shoppers a_n is

a_n = a_1 (1.20)^{n-1}

which is a geometric series whose sum to the<em> n</em>th term is

$\sum_{n=0}^{n-1} a_1(r^n) = a_1\dfrac{1-r^n}{1-r} $

Now, we know that the total number of shoppers over the first 4 days is 671; therefore,

a_1\dfrac{1-r^n}{1-r^n}  = 671 $

a_1\dfrac{1-(1.2)^4}{1-(1.2)}  = 671 $

a_1(5.368) = 671 $

a_1 = \dfrac{671}{5.368}

\boxed{a_1 = 125 \;people. }

Thus, there were 125 shoppers on the first day.

An object is moving at a speed of 2 centimeters ever 7 seconds. express this speed in meters per week.
IgorC [24]

The speed of the object is 12121 m per week.

What does it mean to do speed?

  • “Speed” is a street name for various stimulant drugs that teens, young adults and others use to feel more alert and focused, and in some cases, to feel high.
  • Some people also use various forms of speed to reduce their appetite. Types of speed include: Amphetamines (used to treat ADHD, narcolepsy, and depression)

The object is moving at a speed of 2 centimeters every 7 seconds.

We need to find the speed in m per week.

2 cm = 0.02 m

1 week = 604800 s

7 s =  1.65 * 10^{-6}   week

Speed = distance/time

So,

v = \frac{0.02 m}{1.65 * 10^{-6 } week}

v = 12121.21  m/ week

or v = 12121 m/ week

So, the speed of the object is 12121 m per week.
