Imagine you are studying the seafloor spreading along two different ocean ridges. Along the first ridge the magnetic stripes are

uniformly narrow. Along the second ridge the magnetic stripes are wide near the crest, but they become narrower as you move away from the crest. What can you say about the history of motion in each example? 30 What drives plate tectonics? How does it work?

Answer:

As explained below.

Explanation:

  • The earth tectonic history is created over these plate boundaries and these plates are a result of the formation of the earth crust which is recycled every year due to the mid-oceanic ridges that spread the lava on both sides of ridges
  • These lava adapt to the same geomaterial properties i.e there crystals capture the magnetic properties on the earth, so along the ridges the stipe of ridges are uniformly narrow, and thus as we move away from the magnetic stripes becomes older and aged in structure hence these are younger near the ridges due to the continuous upwelling of lava.
  • History of plate tectonic is can be seen through the thermodynamic decay which is a process of plates motion and evolution, where the crust is destroyed in trenches and is again formed from the mantel that is considered a molten rock.

Mohamed and Li Jing were asked to find an explicit formula for the sequence -5\,,-25\,,-125\,,-625,...−5,−25,−125,−625,...Minus,
ANTONII [103]

Answer:

the equation is given as a_n=-5*5^n

Explanation:

As the sequence is given as −5,−25,−125,−625,...

From this the first term is given as

a1=-5

Now the relation between this term and the next term is to be observed.

d=a2-a1=-25-(-5)=-25+5=-20

d=a3-a2=-125-(-25)=-125+25=-100

Now it is observed that the difference is not same this indicates that the relation is not arithmetic.

next up is the geometric sequence so the value of ratio is given as

r=a2/a1=-25/-5=5

r=a3/a2=-125/-25=5

As  the ratio is same this indicates, this is a geometric sequence.

Now for the geometric sequence, the value of the general term is given as

a_n=a_1r^n

Here a1=-5 and r=5 so the equation is given as

a_n=-5*5^n

Answer:

56

Explanation:

F1 individuals are heterozygous. The F2 generation is a dihybrid cross and it will have offsprings in the ratio of 9:3:3:1. The dominant phenotypes are in the frequency of 9/16. Then the total number of the offsprings will be : (9/16)*100=56.25
