Answer:

The correct answer is C. The western ranges are composed of the Rocky Mountains and the Coast Mountains.

Explanation:

-The Coast Mountains are a mountain range along the west coast of North America. They are located in the west of the Canadian province of British Columbia and the southeast of the state of Alaska.

The mountains are approximately 1600 km long and 300 km wide. The highest peak, Mount Waddington, is 4042 meters high. In the south and southeast, the Coast Mountains are bordered by the Fraser River and the Interior Plateau. The northwestern boundary is formed by the Kelsall and Tatshenshini rivers, which separate the Coast Mountains from the St Elias Mountains.

The Coast Mountains have a wet climate due to the proximity of the Pacific Ocean, the western slopes are covered with temperate rainforest. The northern mountain ranges in particular contain many glaciers and snow fields. On the east side, the situation gradually changes to the much drier climate of the Interior Plateau.

-The Rocky Mountains are a large mountain range in western North America extending from the southern United States up to Canada. The highest parts of the Rocky Mountains are located in Colorado, where there are more than 100 peaks that reach more than 4,000 meters above sea level, such as the highest peak of the mountain range, Mount Elbert, which reaches about 4,400 meters.

The Rocky Mountains are the easternmost mountain range of the Cordillarians. In the mountain range there are significant national parks such as Yellowstone National Park and a large number of winter sports resorts. The US states that have a share of the Rocky Mountains are sometimes called Mountain States.
