Answer:

Your first instinct might be to go ahead and add the x terms together, BUT this would be a bad thing to do! You cannot combine the x2 and 2x, because the first term has an exponent (2) and the second one does not have an exponent; therefore, you cannot add them together!

Answer:

Not sure if you mean multiplying or adding by "combine". But generally the rule of thumb with exponents is when you are adding and they are not like terms, you cannot combine the two terms together. So in other words, they would be left as x²+x. However, when you are multiplying you can add the exponents together. So, it will be like this: x²·x = x³

Write an equation With the slope equal to -4/5 and (0,8)
Murljashka [212]

Answer: y = (-4/5)x + 8

Solution

The equation of line is

y = mx + b

Where

y = y coordinate

m = slope

x = x coordinate

b = y intercept

In order to write the equation of line we need to find the y-intercept (b)

substitute the slope (-4/5)  and coordinates given (0,8) ,

y = mx + b

8 = -4/5 (0) + b

8 = b

So,

y = (-4/5)x + 8

Find the value of x ?
enyata [817]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

∠E = ∠G

∠D= ∠F because it’s a parallelogram ==> D=F=2x+12 and E=G=5x

5x+2x+12=180

7x=168

X=24

Solution 2:

2*5x+2*(2x+12)=360

10x+4x+24=360

14x=360-24=336

X=336/14

X=24

A book club has 200 members
nikklg [1K]
So these are decmials of the accutal total so

.32=32%
what makes this question easy is that there are 200 members so to convert the percents into accutall numbers so like .32=32%=64 people (since 200 is 2 times of 100)

A. fiction of 31-40 compared to 21-30
fiction 31-40=.38=38%=76 readers
fiction 21-30=.32=32%=64 readers
76-64=12
A is FALSE

B. so we want to know how many people are 31-40 and prefer fiction
so .38=38% and 38% of 200=76
B is FALSE

C 43 members are 21-30
so we look at the total row for the 21-30 people and see that .43 or 43% or 86 people are in the 21-30 age group
C is FALSE

D. 140 members prefer fiction
look at the total column for fiction and see that .70 like fiction .70=70%=140 people
D is TRUE

so A,B,C are FALSE
D is TRUE
