Which is the equation of the same line as y=3x-8

You have forgot to upload an attachment with it either or you might forgot to write the complete question but i can still help you by telling you how this graph will be looking.

As you can see the y intercept is -8 so you can clearly understand that the line cuts the y axis at -8. Similarly by looking at the gradient and knowing that it is positive you can know that the the diagonal line will be sloping upwards with the multiple of 3.

One Way:
We can change the mixed number to a decimal for comparing.

1\frac{1}{4} m = \frac{5}{4} m = 1.25 m

1.4 m     >    1.25 m
Darren   >     Luke

Darren's jump was higher by (1.4-1.25) 0.15 m

Or another way change the decimal to a fraction and the mixed to an improper fraction too.

1\frac{1}{4} = \frac{5}{4} (Luke)
1.4 = \frac{7}{5}                               (Darren)
We need a common denominator to compare
\frac{5*5}{4*5}       (Luke)
\frac{7*4}{5*4}       (Darren)
\frac{25}{20}          (Luke)
\frac{28}{20}          (Darren)

\frac{28}{20}  >   \frac{25}{20}
        Darren           >            Luke

By:
\frac{28}{20} - \frac{25}{20} = \frac{3}{20}
Which is also by 0.15 m
Darren jumps higher and by 0.15 m

Which is true about the slope of a line?
Inessa05 [86]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope of all lines in quadrant 1 is positive. FALSE

The slope of a line does not depend on the quadrant.

The slope of <u>all lines</u> that pass through the origin is undefined.FALSE

The slope of some lines that pass trough the origin are undefined ( lines that are vertical have undefined slope)

The larger the slope, the longer the line.FALSE

The lines do not get longer or shorter because they go to infinity in both directions.

The larger the magnitude of the slope value, the steeper the line. TRUE

The larger the absolute value of the slope the steeper the slope.
