Let the three consecutive equals:
x, x+1, x+2

sum:
x+(x+1)+(x+2) = 36
3x + 3 = 36
x+1 = 36/3
x+1 = 12
x=12-1
x=11

The inequality −8(x − 1) ≥ 88 is given. Part A: Solve the inequality and show every step of your work. (4 points) Part B: Explai
lana66690 [7]

Regarding the inequality defined by −8(x − 1) ≥ 88, we have that:

A. The solution is given by: x < -4.

B. On the number line, the solution set is composed by x = -10 and the values to the left of it.

C. Two possible solutions are x = -11 and x = -12.

<h3>Solving the inequality</h3>

The inequality is defined by:

−8(x − 1) ≥ 88

It is solved similarly to an equality, applying the distributive property and isolating the variable x, finding a range of values of x which are the solution to the inequality, as follows:

−8(x − 1) ≥ 88

8(x - 1) ≤ -88 (multiplication by -1 changes the inequality signal)

x - 1 ≤ -11 (simplify both sides of the inequality by 8).

x ≤ -10.

This the solution set is composed by the value of x = -10 and the values to the left of it, and two possible solutions are x = -11 and x = -12, which are numbers that are less than, that is, to the left of x = -10.

Triangle and polygon practice, help please!! Even just with one of them!
deff fn [24]

Step-by-step explanation:

For question no. 3

Since we are aware that measure of the sum of all the three interior angles of a triangle is 180°.

135 \degree + 25\degree +( 2x + 2)\degree  =  180 \degree \\  \\  \therefore \:  2x\degree  = 180 \degree  - 152 \degree  \\  \\ \therefore \:  2x\degree  = 28 \degree    \\  \\ \therefore \:  x\degree  =  \frac{28 \degree}{2}     \\  \\  \therefore \: x = 14

Justin builds a triangular fenced area for his dog called Triangle ABC. If AB = 17 ft and BC = 8ft, and angle C is a right angle
Anika [276]

The missing side of the fence measures 15 ft

The perimeter of the fence is 40 ft

The area inside the fenced in section is 60 ft²

The fence is triangular and a right triangle.

<h3>Right triangle:</h3>

A right triangle has one of its angle as 90 degrees. Therefore, the sides can be found using Pythagoras theorem.

c² = a² + b²

17² - 8² = b²

b = 15 ft

AC = 15 ft

perimeter of the triangle = 15 + 8 + 17 = 40 ft

Area of the triangle = 1 / 2 × 15 × 8 = 60 ft²

Therefore,

The missing side of the fence measures 15 ft

The perimeter of the fence is 40 ft

The area inside the fenced in section is 60 ft²
