The answer is (1.5,10)
4x -y = -4
-(2x - y = -7)
-------------------
2x = 3
x = 3/2 or 1.5

Answer:

The answer is (1.5, 10)

Step-by-step explanation:

We can solve this system by apllying substitution in the following way:

(1) 2x-y=-7

(2) 4x-y =-4

1. Simplify one of your variables in terms of the other in any of the two equations

Here its easy to simplify y in equation (1)

2x-y=-7

2x=-7+y

2x+7 = y

y=2x+7 (3)

2. We replace the simplified equation into the other  equation of the system for the simplified variable, in this case y

(3) in (2)

4x-(2x+7) =-4

4x -2x-7 = -4

2x = 7-4

2x = 3

x = 3/2 = 1.5 (4)

3. Repplace the value obtained in the explicit equation of the other variable in this case equation (3)

(4) in (3)

y = 2(1.5)+7 = 3+7 = 10

The system has solution (x,y)=(1.5,10)

Need Help ASAP!!!
Hitman42 [59]

Answer:

The answer to your question is:

x = 1

y = 1

z = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

                                -2x + 2y + 3z = 0             (1)

                                -2x - y + z = -3                  (2)

                                 2x + 3y + 3z = 5              (3)

Solve (1) and (2)

Multiply 2 by 2

                                 -2x + 2y + 3z = 0

                                 -4x -2y   + 2z = -6

                                -6x          + 5 z = -6        (4)

Solve (2) and (3)

Multiply 2 by 3

                               -6x - 3y + 3z = -9

                                2x + 3y + 3z = 5

                               -4x         + 6z = -4           (5)

Solve (4) and (5)

Multiply (4) by 2 and (5) by -3

                           -12x    + 10 z = -12

                            12x    -  18z   = 12

                                         -6z = 0

                                          z = 0

Then

            -4x + 6(0) = -4

           -4x = -4

            x = -4/-4

            x = 1

Finally

                 -2(1) - y + (0) = -3

                -2 - y = -3

                 -y = -3 + 2

                 y = 1

Ken paid for $12 for two magazines. The cost of each magazine was a multiple of 3. What is Mare the possible prices of the magaz
Artist 52 [7]

Answer:

So the possibilities are

$12 and $ 0    ,    $9 and $ 3      , $6 and $6

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Total Magazines = 2

Price = $ 12

To Find:

Possible Prices of magazines = ?

Solution:

As it is given that Prices of magazines is multiples of 3

So

Multiples of 3 up till 12 are

0, 3 , 6 , 9 , 12

Now

Total Price of magazine is $12

Now The possible prices of the magazines are

First Possibility:

If price of first magazine is $12 then second would be $0 (free)

First possible price $12 and $0

Second Possibility:

If price of first magazine is $9 then second would be $3

Second possible price $3 and $9

Third Possibility:

If price of first magazine is $6 then second would be $6

Third possible price $6 and $6

So the possibilities are

$12 and $ 0    ,    $9 and $ 3      , $6 and $6
