Answer:

h = 13

Step-by-step explanation:

Let call

i      my age

p  my father age

h my son age

Then   d =  p - i  is the difference in age between my father and me

From problem statement "When I am as old as my father is now, I will be five times as old as my son is now"

i + d = 5*h  = p    (1)

And from "By then my son will be eight years older than I am now"

h  +  d = i + 8   (2)

Finally

i + p = 100   (3)

Solving these equations

From equation (1)     d  =  5*h - i

Plugging that value in equation (2)

h + ( 5*h - i ) = i  +  8     ⇒   h + 5*h - i = i + 8  ⇒ 6*h - 2*i = 8

As   5*h  = p

And   i + p = 100

i  + 5*h = 100      i  = 100 - 5*h

6*h - 2*i = 8       i = ( 6*h - 8 )/2

100 - 5*h  = (  6*h - 8 ) /2

200 - 10*h  = 6*h - 8

208 = 16*h

h = 208/16

h= 13 years old

The amount of time the husband and the wife spend on house work is measured for 15 women and their 15 husbands. For the wives th
dolphi86 [110]

Answer:

The value of the test statistic is z = -0.877.

Step-by-step explanation:

Testing the difference in mean time spent on housework between husbands and wives.

At the null hypothesis, we test if there is no difference, that is, the subtraction of the means is 0:

H_0: \mu_H - \mu_W = 0

At the alternate hypothesis, we test if there is a difference, that is, the subtraction of the means is different from 0.

H_1: \mu_H - \mu_W \neq 0

The test statistic is:

z = \frac{X - \mu}{s}

In which X is the sample mean, \mu is the value tested at the null hypothesis, and s is the standard error.

0 is tested at the null hypothesis:

This means that \mu = 0

For the wives the mean was 7 hours/week and for the husbands the mean was 4.5 hours/week. The standard deviation of the differences in time spent on house work was 2.85.

This means that X = 4.5 - 7 = -2.5, s = 2.85

What is the value of the test statistic for testing the difference in mean time spent on housework between husbands and wives?

z = \frac{X - \mu}{s}

z = \frac{-2.5 - 0}{2.85}

z = -0.877

The value of the test statistic is z = -0.877.

How many drahms areequivalent to 300 grains?
GenaCL600 [577]

hello

to solve this question, we need to know how many grains is in 1 gram

\begin{gathered} 1\text{grams}=15.43\text{grains} \\  \end{gathered}

now let 300 grains be equal to x grams

\begin{gathered} 1\text{grams}=15.43\text{grain} \\ \text{xgrams}=300\text{grains} \\ \text{cross multiply both sides and solve for x} \\ x\times15.43=1\times300 \\ 15.43x=300 \\ \text{divide both sides by 19.44} \\ \frac{15.43x}{15.43}=\frac{300}{15.43} \\ x=\frac{300}{15.43} \\ x=19.44 \end{gathered}

300 grains will weigh 19.44g

Step-by-step explanation:

The units of measurement of variable of interest are Dollars because the calculated mean and standard deviation of the data set of variable of interest indicates the measurements constitutes of dollars. The type of data is quantitative because the data can be meaningfully represented as numerically.

Calculate the perimeter and area of the following square if a= 19
Licemer1 [7]

Formula for perimeter of a square: P = 4a

Formula for area of a square: A = a²

a is given as:

19

Plug this value for a into the above formulas to solve for perimeter and area.

P = 4a

P = 4(19)

P = 76

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A = a²

A = 19²

A = 361

Answer:

P = 76 units; A = 361 units².
