What type of jazz influence is displayed in these lines from the poem "Cabaret" by Sterling

I think it was New Orleans Jazz where there were big bands and horn sections.   It also had a blues element to it.  It entertains but also tells a lot about Black Character with its soul renditions.  Even in a big there is substance to Jazz.
