Answer:

The answer is well illustrated as below

Explanation:

Remember: Five factors affects the Pension Liability and Plan assets.

1 & 2. Expenses which includes service cost and interest cost

The increase in expense always increases the pension liability so the entry would be:

Dr Service cost  $27,100

Dr Interest Cost $30,300 ...... $303,000 Opening Pension Liability * 10%

Cr Pension Liability        $57,400

3. Actual return increases the Plan Asset

The Actual return on investment received would increase the Assets worth, which means the journal entry must be passed which would increase the Investment Value (Plan Asset). So the entry would be:

Dr Plan Asset $25,700

Cr Actual return $25,700

4. Contributions made increases the Plan Asset because it is an increase in the investment.

So the journal entry would be:

Dr Plan Asset $20,000

Cr Cash Asset        $20,000

5. The benefits paid to employees are decrease in both pension asset and the pension liability. (We had actually borrowed money from the employees and had invested that money so paying off the benefits actually decreases the pension liability and assets).

So the double entry would be:

Dr Pension Liability $17,700

Cr            Pension Assets $17,700

Kindly input the above values in the following worksheet:

$342,000

 Regardless if the amount of supplies has not been paid or not, it is still accounted for in the balance sheet. You would have a debit of 342,000 for supplies, credit of supplies payable of 240,000 and a credit to cash for 102,000 assuming that the difference between both amounts was paid for with cash.

What is the discount yield, bond equivalent yield, and effective annual return on a $4 million commercial paper issue that curre
ddd [48]

Answer:

6.21%

Explanation:

Discount of the bond can be calculated by subtracting the purchase price of the bond from the face value. Discount Yield is the ratio of discount on the bond to the future value of the bond.

Discount Yield = [(F - P)/F] x [360/t]

Where

F = Face Value = $1,000 ( assumed)

P = Present value  = $1,000 x 97.5% = $975

t = 145 days

Placing the value in the formula

Discount Yield = [($1,000 - $975)/$1,000] x [360/145] = 0.0621 = 6.21%

Annapolis Company was recently sold for $470,000. Annapolis had assets & liabilities appraised at the time of the sale in th
MissTica

Answer:

$215,000

Explanation:

Goodwill is the excess of purchase consideration over the net asset of a company. It is an intangible asset

Good will = Purchase consideration - net asset

Net assets is the difference between the company's assets and its liabilities.

Net asset = $135,000 + $275,000 + $500,000 - $655,000

= $255,000

Goodwill = $470,000 - $255,000

= $215,000

Goodwill for this transaction is $215,000.
