The period of Jacksonian democracy, which took place during the 1830s, under the Presidency of Andrew Jackson, was characterized by a movement led by the President himself, where he championed the causes of more rights for the common man, while simultaneously opposing any kind of aristocracy in the nation.

Further Explanation:

Under Jacksonian democracy, a political philosophy in the United States during the 19th century, suffrage rights was expanded to include most white men over the age of 21 years, while simultaneously restructuring several federal institutions in the country. It was started during the tenure of Andrew Jackson, who was elected, in 1828, as the seventh President of the country. The term, used predominantly during the 1830s, is also called as the Second Party System by both historians and political scientists. The period started around 1828 and lasted till the mid-1850s.

This phase was characterized by a democratic spirit, which was based upon the equal political policy that was propounded by Andrew Jackson, who also wanted to end what he viewed as a ‘monopoly’ of the government by the elitist class. Apart from this, Jacksonian democracy also aimed at promoting the power of both the presidency, as well as the executive branch of the government, while simultaneously undermining the power of the legislature, i.e. the Congress. It also wished to increase public participation in the government.

Andrew Jackson’s followers also demanded that judges be elected, rather than appointed. Apart from this, they also rewrote several state constitutions to reflect their new values. They also favored geographical expansion of American territory.

Age 21 became the uniform legal drinking age across the u.s. in:
NikAS [45]
The drinking age in the US became 21 as of 1984. This became law after the National Minimum Drinking Age Act was passed by Congress. The origins of this law can be credited to several different organizations that studied the effect of drinking and driving accidents/fatalities. This group of organizations included popular ones like MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). This campaign to raise the drinking age worked and is still the law today.
