The Korean War basically ended up where it started and is still technically going on. The dividing line on the 38th parallel still exists. They are in a stalemate. On the other hand, the Vietnam War was won by Communist North Vietnam. When the United States pulled out of the war after seemingly making a truce between North and South Vietnam, the North Vietnamese Vietminh went back on their promise and crushed the democratic South Vietnamese.
