In segregation, groups are separated. Think of the United States in the 1900s. African Americans were constantly treated as less than Whites, and therefore had to suffer through segregation. Think of how there were segregated schools, bathrooms, water fountains, etc. This was done in an effort to keep african americans away from whites.
