Let w = the walking time

the total time is given as 1 hr, therefore (1-w) = running time

Walking dist and running dist is the same

Write a distance equation: dist = speed * time

3w = 9 (1-w)

3w = 9 - 9w

3w + 9w = 9

12w = 9

w = 9/12 = 3/4 hrs walking back

A medium-sized (4-pound) sugar pumpkin should yield around 1½ cups of mashed pumpkin. So, if a 4-pound pumpkin will yield about
Greeley [361]

Answer: 948

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question, we are informed that 4-pound pumpkin will yield about 1.5 cups of mashed pumpkin (pumpkin puree).

Therefore, the number of cups of pumpkin puree that Steve Geddes' 2,528-pound pumpkin will yield will be:

= (2528/4) × 1.5

= 632 × 1.5

= 948 cups of pumpkin puree

Lori buys a $400 certificate deposit that earns 1.8% interest compounded monthly how much will a cd be worth in six years
Firlakuza [10]

Answer:

$1445.11

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula to use would be:

F=P(1+r)^t

Where

F is the future amount (what we want to find)

P is the present (principal) amount (this is 400)

r is the rate of interest, monthly (1.8% or 0.018)

t is the time in months (6 years = 6 * 12 = 72)

Now substituting, we get:

F=P(1+r)^t\\F=400(1+0.018)^{72}\\F = 400(1.018)^{72}\\F=1445.11

After 6 years, the CD will be worth $1445.11

In a particular class, exams are worth 50% of the overall grade, quizzes are worth 30% of the overall grade, homework is worth 1
Paha777 [63]

Answer:

The student's overall grade is 85.79%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given in the question that:

Exam = 50%; Quiz = 30%, Home work = 15% and Class participation = 5%

The total giving us 100%.

A particular student scored the following;

87.9% on exams, 77.8% quiz, 90% Home work and 100%  on class participation

Calculating the percentages the student had for each;

Exam total = 50*0.879 = 43.95% earned

Quiz = 30*0.778 = 23.34% earned

Home work = 15*0.9 = 13.5% earned

Class participation = 5*1 = 5% earned

Total earned = 43.95+ 23.34 + 13.5+ 5 = 85.79%

Pleaaseee help, i need the answer asap! (WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST!!)
Setler79 [48]

Answer:

A.

Step-by-step explanation:

Substituting the ordered pairs into the equation. 3x - y/4 = 11

For (3,-8)

3 * 3 - (-8)/4

9- (-2) = 11

For (4, 4)

3 * 4 - 4/4

12 - 1 = 11

Both ordered pairs equals to 11, therefore, they're both solutions to the equation.
