Colombo Enterprises has a defined benefit pension plan. At the end of the reporting year, the following data were available: beg
nordsb [41]

Answer:

The correct answer is $12,400.

Explanation:

According to the scenario, the computation of the given data are as follows:

We can calculate the pension expense by using following formula:

Pension expense =  Interest cost + Service cost - Expected return on plan assets.

Where, Interest cost = $6,400

service cost = $17,000

Expected return on plan assets = $11,000

So, by putting the value, we get

Pension expense = $6,400 + $17,000 - $11,000 = $12,400

Hence, Journal entry for the following are as follows:

Pension Expense A/c Dr.   $12,400

To Cash                                      $12,400

Credit card companies track your transactions. how can they abuse this?
Alexus [3.1K]
Answer:
Credit card companies can invade your privacy by monitoring all your credit card transactions and making decisions, whether correct or incorrect, about your credit worthiness and your character.

Explanations:
All credit card transactions are logged into a data base which is accessible to credit card companies.
Therefore credit card companies can form opinions about your credit worthiness on the basis of your credit card transactions.

For example, if you use your credit card to pay for groceries, utilities, and ordinary bills, a credit card company could assume that you are in financial distress and make a decision to reduce your credit limit.
If a person uses a credit card often at a casino or gambling locations, that could also signify to credit card issuers that the person may not be using money wisely, and may not be willing to provide more credit to the gambler.

To sum it up, personal privacy is lost whenever a person uses a credit card. Credit card issuers may form opinions about a card holder that may be correct or incorrect, based on the person's credit card transactions.

A labor-intensive process has a fixed cost of $338,000 and a variable cost of $143 per unit. A capital-intensive (automated) pro
sertanlavr [38]

Answer:

the 17,941 units should be produced and sold

Explanation:

The computation of the number of units that should be generated and sold is shown below:

Let us assume the number of units be n

Now as we know that

Total labor cost = variable cost + fixed cost

So the equations are

For labor intensive = $33,8000 + 143 n

And

For capital intensive = $1,244,000 + $92.5n

It could be written as

$1,244,000 + $92.5 n  <  $338,000 + $143 n

After solving it

n> 906,000÷ 50.5

n>17941

And,

$1,244,000 + $92.5 n < 197 n

After solving it

n>$1,244,000 ÷ 104.5

n>11,904

So the highest is 17,941

Therefore the 17,941 units should be produced and sold

In the _____ phase of the decision-making process, the objective is to define criteria for the decision, generate alternatives f
Ksenya-84 [330]

Answer:

Design

Explanation:

In Simon model of decision making process there are four phases

•  Intelligence

• Design

• Choice

• Implementation

  • Intelligence phase: In this phase problem, situation and opportunity is being identified. The variable is identified which impacts the decision. It is based on the objective of organization and project
  • Design phase: This is the phase in which a model for decision is being created. It is done by identifying relation between the variable of decision-making process. Their relationship is established and then model is constructed. Based on the model various alternative of decision is created. The outcome for each decision option is also predicted and
  • Choice phase: Based on model prepared by design phase. Various alternative of decision is created. In this phase the best decision is chosen which helps in attaining the objective most productively.
  • Implementation phase: based on choice made. The action and activities of the decision is applied to situation or the opportunity.

In the problem defined the phase which is being discussed is one in which criteria of decision , alternative for meeting and relationship between choice and criteria is evaluated which corresponds to design phase as discussed in the above model.
