Three times a number =   3x

Increased by 8 =               + 8

So far we have:  3x + 8

no more than =    <=

the number decreased by 4 =  x -4

Put it all together and we have:

3x + 8 <= x - 4

Solve for x

3x + 8 <= x - 4

3x - x <= -4 - 8

2x <= -12

2x / 2 <= -12 / 2

x <= -6

-6 is the number / answer.

GrogVix [38]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Thank you for providing the details of the question.

Unfortunately none of the results you have to choose from will give you 44%

The problem resembles the first probability question you were likely asked. "What is the probability of getting a heads on every throw of a fair coin?" The answer is 1/2 no matter how many times you throw the coin or what has happened before any point in the throws.

The answer should be 6/50. If this turns out not to be the answer and you have an instructor your safest course of action is to ask how 44% was obtained. Tell me in a comment.

What is the sum of the interior angles of the polygon shown?
Virty [35]

The sum of the interior angles of the polygon shown is 540 degrees

Solution:

The sum of the measures of the interior angles of a polygon with n sides is:

Sum =  (n -2) \times 180

From given figure in question,

Number of sides in polygon = 5 ( which is a pentagon )

Therefore,

n = 5

Thus the sum of measures of interior angles is:

Sum = (5-2) \times 180\\\\Sum = 3 \times 180\\\\Sum = 540

Thus the sum of the interior angles of the polygon shown is 540 degrees
