£600 = 100 + 20%
£600 = 120%—-Divide 12 with—- £50 =10% —— multiply 100 with —— £500=100%

So it is £500.

Explanation:

In order to answer this question we need to understand that the final price of the washing machine (£600) is the price of the machine without VAT (100% of x ) plus VAT (20% of x ). Therefore 120% of x = £600. This can also be written as: 1.2x =600. Make x the subject of the equation by dividing both sides by 1.2 which leaves: x =500 therefore the price of the washing machine without VAT is £500.

Answer: £500

Step-by-step explanation:

Jules buys the washing machine at £600 including vat

Price before vat

x + 0.2x = 600

1.2x = 600

x = 600/1.2

x = 500

A bank advertises an interest rate of 4% per year, compounded monthly
Darina [25.2K]

Given :

Interest rate , r = 4 %.

To Find :

The APY .

Solution :

APY is given by :

APY=(1+\dfrac{r}{n})^n-1

Here , r is compound interest and n is number of time compounded .

So ,

APY=(1+\dfrac{r}{n})^n-1\\\\APY=(1+\dfrac{4}{12})^{12}-1\\\\APY=30.57\%

Therefore , APY is 30.57 % .

Hence , this is the required solution .

What is the slope of the line that passes through the following points? <br> (-1,-2) and (-3,-4)
iragen [17]

Answer:

y = x - 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the slope:

(-4 - (-2))/(-3 - (-1))

-2/-2 = 1

y = x + b

Plug in one of the points:

(-1,-2)

-2 = -1 + b

b = -1

y = x - 1
