Isolate m using inverse operations, get m by itself. (addition and subtraction, mult. and div.)

7m-35=5+2m\ (subtract\ 2m) \\ 5m-35=5\ (add\ 35) \\ 5m = 40\ (divide\ by\ 40) \\ \boxed{m=8}

Drake's yard measures 24 ft by 30 ft. His garden, which is part of the yard, measures 36 inches by 108 inches. What is the area
Westkost [7]
24 x 30 = 720 sq. ft

36 x 108= 3888  sq. inches

3888 inches divided by 12 inches= 324 ft.

720 ft - 324 ft. = 396 ft is the yard only without the garden
