States provided money in the form of taxes, sent representatives to Congress, and had to supply soldiers during war.

Explanation:

Under the Articles of Confederation, the Central Government was very weak and the State governments were strong. Most of the powers were from the State governments. The Articles of Confederation had 13 articles. Article 5th established that the Congress of the Confederation would be formed by a delegation of 2 and 7 members of each state. The Central government could not tax, so state legislatures that had power to tax would raise money to pay for the Central government and for the army.
