A jar contains 99% fair coins, and 1% double-headed coins. you took a coin at random, then toss it 3 times and observed 3 heads.

The probability of getting 3 heads in 3 tosses of a fair coin is:
0.5\times0.5\times0.5=0.125
The probability of selecting a fair coin and getting 3 heads in 3 tosses is:
0.99\times0.125=0.12375

The probability of selecting a double-headed coin and getting 3 heads in 3 tosses is:
0.01\times1=0.01
The probability of selecting a coin and getting 3 heads in 3 tosses is:
0.12375 + 0.01 = 0.13375
The probability that a double-headed coin was picked is:
0.01/0.13375 = 0.0748

The answer is 0.0748 or 7.48%

1 in 100, because you have 99% fair coins and just 1% double-headed one, then 99 + 1 is obviously 100, so you have a 1 in 100 chance

State whether every point on the graph is a solution of the equation. Explain why or why not.
k0ka [10]
<span>Every point shown on the graph is not a solution of the equation because when the coordinates of the points are substituted into the equation, the equation is not true for all the points.

<span>They should produce 100 Explorers and 275 Grande Expeditions. To maximize revenue, we want to use all 375 frames. Since the more expensive bike take longer to make, we also want to use all 450 hours so we can make as many of the more expensive bikes as possible with the 375 frame. This helps us create a 2 variable system that can be solved. Let x=Explorers and y=Grande Expeditions x+y=375 2x+3y=450</span>

Solve for xxx. Give an exact answer. 0.5(5−7x)=8−(4x+6)
bearhunter [10]

Answer:

x=-1

Step-by-step explanation:

0.5(5−7x)=8−(4x+6)

I do not like working with fractions so I will multiply by 2 on each side

2*0.5(5−7x)=2*8−2(4x+6)

5 -7x = 16 -2( 4x+6)

Distribute

5-7x = 16 -8x -12

Combine like terms

5-7x =4-8x

Add 8x to each side

5 -7x+8x = 4-8x+8x

5+x = 4

Subtract 5 from each side

5-5+x = 4-5

x =-1

4. Find the sum of all the numbers from 100 to 199 that are not divisible by 13.
Ierofanga [76]

There are 100 numbers in the range 100-199. Find the smallest and largest multiple of 13 in this range. We have

104 = 8•13

195 = 15•13

so there are 15 - 8 + 1 = 8 multiples of 13 between 100 and 199.

Then the sum we want is

\displaystyle \sum_{k=100}^{199} k - \sum_{\ell=8}^{15}13\ell

or equivalently,

(100 + 101 + 102 + … + 199) - 13 (8 + 9 + … + 15)

To compute these sums, recall the following formula:

\displaystyle \sum_{i=1}^n i = 1 + 2 + 3 + \cdots + n = \frac{n(n+1)}2

Then

\displaystyle \sum_{k=100}^{199} k = \sum_{k=1}^{199} k - \sum_{k=1}^{99} k = \frac{199\cdot200}2 - \frac{99\cdot100}2 = 14,950

and

\displaystyle \sum_{\ell=8}^{15} 13\ell = 13 \left(\sum_{\ell=1}^{15} \ell - \sum_{\ell=1}^7 \ell\right) = 13 \left(\frac{15\cdot16}2 - \frac{7\cdot8}2\right) = 1,196

which means the sum we want is 14,950 - 1,196 = 13,754.
