So, if he works 35 hours, he will earn:

 

120 + 5(35 - 30) = 120 + 5(5) = 120 + 25 = $145.

 

If he works 42 hours, he will earn:

 

120 + 5(42 - 30) = 120 + 5(12) = 120 + 60 = $180.
