2. To transport water to the entire plant, especially the leaves where photosynthesis takes place. This is important because water is required for photosynthesis to take place.

3. Chlorophyll.

4. The palisade layer contains the most chloroplasts.

5. The function of the stomata is to allow gas exchange to facilitate photosynthesis. It also controls the rate of photosynthesis to regulate water use of the plant. Without it, plant would have severely hindered transpiration, causing the plant to die.

6. Chloroplasts are where photosynthesis takes place. Without chloroplasts, no synthesis would happen.

7. A leaf from a desert plant would likely have less stomata to conserve water content in the plant from evaporation due to environmental factors. This is because water escapes to the environment when stomata are open in plants. The contrary would be the case for plants in a tropical environment where water is more abundant and sunlight is more lacking.

According to the data above, humans exhibit a high chance of surviving into old age.
Rom4ik [11]

Based on the data provided, we can conclude that the graph in question corresponds to the K-selected theory in regards to the human species.

When considering the data of certain species and grouping them into categories such as extinct, endangered, or K/r-selected we take into account factors such as:

 • Population size
 • Behavior
 • Carrying capacity
 • Reproduction rates

and so on, then classify each species accordingly.

Species that are Extinct are no longer on the earth. This classification refers to species of the past and does not include humans as of yet. The endangered category is reserved for species whose population sizes are at a critical low and are near extinction, which is also not the case for humans.

The K-selected and r-selected theories consider reproduction rates and carrying capacity as well when grouping species. Species that produce few offspring at a time are often found in this group. This category also refers to species whose offspring have a high chance of survival into maturity and whose population size is near the limit of the environment. All of this follows the data given and is the classification for the human species.

The cycle of the moon’s phases is predictable. About how long does it take to cycle from a first quarter moon to a full moon?
rodikova [14]
Answer: C

Explanation: The Moon has phases because it orbits Earth, which causes the portion we see illuminated to change. The Moon takes 27.3 days to orbit Earth, but the lunar phase cycle (from new Moon to new Moon) is 29.5 days.

What are some outcomes of nuclear fusion?
Svetlanka [38]

Answer:

A. produce larger materials from the collision of smaller materials

Explanation:

The outcome of nuclear fusion reaction is that it produces larger materials from the collision of smaller materials.

 • Nuclear fusion is the combination of small atomic nuclei into larger ones with the release of a large amount of energy.
 • The energy released provides the needed temperature for another set of atoms to fuse.
 • This process in turn yields a bulkier material accompanied with the release of a lot of energy.
