This is a quote which Anne Frank said : "I simply can't build my hopes on a foundation of confusion, misery, and death...and yet...I think...this cruelty will end, and that peace and tranquility will return again". This quote is from the <em>Diary of a Young Girl </em>which is about the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands.
If you're overusing exclamation points in your writing, you're making it seem a bit to exciting, and will have to much of an enthusiastic tone. Thus the readers will be confused.
