From the bottom of the hierarchy upwards, the needs are: physiological, safety, love and belonging, esteem, and self-actualization. The need to feel good about yourself is a typical example of esteem needs, The need ti see and engage with the world in a way that that goes beyond self and self interest falls under self actualization.
