The nation realised that they could not undergo another war after it was finished. Even before the war started they were going through a depression. The costs of the war was huge and there were 30-60 million deaths.

On November 11, 2018, churches bells were rung 100 times all across Canada - also all over the world - to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the signing of the armistice that ended World War I, also known as <em>"The Great War</em>".

This event did also honor the Canadians soldiers that sacrificed their lives during that conflict that took place between 1914 and 1918.  

The event was named "Bells of Peace".

It was held in the city of Trent, Italy. The council was a reply to the challenges posted by protestant reformation.  A Chastened church and the reformed roman Catholicism emerged from the council.

The council affirmed the belief that pope should lead the church and that only Church can judge the meaning of holy Scriptures. It did away with the sale of indulgences. A new statement of belief  was commissioned
