Misha Larkins [42]

Answer:

Implicit cost

The salary Manuel could earn if he worked as a financial advisor

b. The rental income Manuel could receive if he chose to rent out his showroom

explicit cost

c. The wholesale cost for the pianos that Manuel pays the manufacturer

d. The wages and utility bills that Manuel pays

Explanation:

Explicit cost includes the amount expended in running the business. They include rent , salary and cost of raw materials.

Implicit cost is the cost of the next best option forgone when one alternative is chosen over other alternatives.

Only explicit cost is considered when calculating accounting profit while both explicit and implicit costs are considered in calculating economic profit.

Accounting profit= total revenue - explicit cost

Economic profit = accounting profit - implicit cost

If Manuel did not sell pianos, he would be working as a financial advisor, this is his next best option. Thus the salary he would have earned as a financial advisor is his explicit cost

If he did not use the showroom, he could have rented it out. Renting it out is his next best option. Thus the income from renting the showroom is his explicit cost

The wholesale cost of the pianos, wages and utility bills are monies actually expended in the course of running the business. Thus they are explicit costs

A company exchanged land for equipment and $2,300 in cash. The book value and the fair value of the land were $105,400 and $89,7
Alika [10]

Answer:

c.$87,400 $(15,700)

Explanation:

Equipment ($89,700- $2,300) $87,400

Cash $2,300

Loss ($105,400 – $89,700) $15,700

Land (book value)105,400

Therefore Assuming that the exchange has commercial substance, the company would record equipment and a gain/(loss) of $87,400 $(15,700)

True or false?A call provision gives bondholders the right to demand, or "call for," repayment of a bond. Typically, companies c
Alex787 [66]

Answer:

False.

Explanation:

A call provision is a stipulation on the contract of a bond that allows the issuer to repurchase and retire debt security. A bind indenture states circumstances that can trigger a call, for example if underlying asset gets to a preset price.

In the question it stated that the bond holder can demand for a call. This is untrue as only the issuer has the right to request a call.

If the bondholder wants to dispose of his shares he will do so through the secondary market and not by requesting a call.

Readme [11.4K]

Answer:

$116.78

$110.66

IRR is 3.03%

Find attached

Explanation:

The cash paid for the investment is the present value of all cash flows including coupon and face value promised by the bond discounted using the yield to maturity of 3.03%

=-pv(rate,nper,pmt,fv)

rate is the yield to maturity of 3.03%

nper is the number of annual coupon payments receivable by bondholders which is 10

pmt is the annual coupon=$100*5%=$5

fv is the face value of $100

=-pv(3.03%,10,5,100)=$116.78

Price after four years means that there are only six years left to maturity, hence, nper changes to 6

=-pv(3.03%,6,5,100)=$110.66

BigorU [14]
I'd like to answer this, but I don't understand the stock market. Pretty much Greek to me. But I would think stocks would depend on buyers and sellers and how well a company is doing. If people believe in the future, they will be buying. If the future looks grim, many will be selling. Both greatly effect the health of the market.
