What is the relationship between a cylinder and a sphere with the same base area and perpendicular height?

Answer:

For a sphere, the height is equal to the diameter, or two times the radius.

and because both objects have the same base area, then we can take the radius of the sphere equal to R and the radius of the base of the cylinder also equal to R.

The volume of the cylinder is:

Vc = pi*r^2*h

and here we have r = R and h = 2R

V = pi*(R^3)*2

the volume of a sphere of radius R is:

Vs = (4/3)*pi*R^3

The quotient between them is:

Vc/Vs = 2/(4/3) = 6/4 = 3/2.

This means that the volume of the cylinder is 3/2 times the volume of the sphere, always, for any value of R.

Answer:

  x = 40 1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

The hash marks tell you the triangles are similar and the smaller one is 1/2 the size of the  larger one. Then x is half the length of the corresponding segment marked 81.

  x = 81/2

  x = 40 1/2

___

You may have to write it as 81/2 or as 40.5. Sometimes the answer needs to be in a particular form.

Multiplying a number by 2 and then dividing it by 3 is the same as multiplying by what number
dybincka [34]
2*6= 12 divided by 3 is 4.

2*2= 4

So multiplying 6 by 2 and then dividing by 3 is the same as multiplying 2 by 2.

Sorry I can't solve it.

Firstly, the equation is wrong. It is supposed to be <span>81 ≠ </span><span>30.25

Second of all, this is the best I got </span>81= <span><span>−<span>76 <span>(<span>cos<span>(r) </span></span></span></span></span>+ <span>106.25</span></span>
