The answer closest to the truth would be A; however, it isn't completely true. What seperates comedies and tragedies is this; a comedy always has a happy ending, while tradgedies always end in tradgedy. Comedies can have serious issues delt with in them and tragedies can be silly. I hope this helps.

Answer:

A. In a comedy the main character has problems that are funny and not serious, while in a tragedy the protagonist has bad luck and suffers pain and loss.

Explanation:

Comedy and tragedy are the two genres of dramatic work. Comedy refers to the genre which is light as compared to the tragedy. Comedy is satirical in tone and the ending is cheerful and happy. In tragedy, the main character experiences many tragic situations and it ends in a sad mood. The comedy focuses on providing comic relief and is romantic. Tragedy at the same time explores the destiny of the protagonist and it leaves a sad and pity ending before the audience.
