The given statement is true.

In humans all reproduction is sexual, it comprises a combination of haploid gamete cells from each parent with half the usual number of chromosomes to produce a novel cell comprising genetic material of both the parents, This is known as a diploid zygote.

When the gametes combine they produce a cell known as a zygote. Human eggs and sperm comprise 23 chromosomes. The human zygotes comprise 46 chromosomes. The kind of cell differentiation, which generates gametes with half the usual number of chromosome is known as meiosis.

Which of the following is a function of the motor division of the nervous system?
den301095 [7]

Answer:

The correct answer will be option- D.

Explanation:

The somatic nervous system is divided into two divisions: the afferent neurons (sensory) which bring signals to the CNS and the efferent neurons (motor) which brings the signals to the muscle at the neuromuscular junction.

The motor neurons bring the signals in the form of the action potential which is sent to the muscle through motor wend plate which triggers a response in the muscle cells in response to the stimuli.

Thus, option- D is the correct answer.

If cancer occurs only in dividing cells, how can the brain develop cancer even though all brain cells are differentiated and don
Makovka662 [10]

Explanation:

Cancer occurs in dividing cells only because genetic materials divide into two equal portions during division. This process may be interrupted by carcinogenes or mutagenes to make mutate cells and then render them as cancer cells. In the brain, the cells are differentiated and there is no chance to start division, then how can cancer be found in the brain.

How is the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) transferred from generation to generation.
marshall27 [118]

Answer:

maternal mtDNA

Explanation:

While nothing but the haploid nucleus remains of the sperm during fertilisation, the ovum still has its mitochondria and other organelles. Mitochondria are capable of division and will divide according to cell's needs.

So it is the maternal mtDNa that gets passed on. Spontaneous mutations can happen at any point ofcourse and get passed on in the same way.
