The store is employing the technique where they trap the consumers with flash news and hinder the important part of the deal. That way they attract the consumers and bring them to the store.

Once the consumer is in the store, there is a high possibility that the consumer will look at other things and quite possibly buy more than what he came there for.

It is clearly a strategy to enhance their sales.
