Massachusetts Bay Colony was established by Puritans who were a kind of Protestant English colonizers. Puritans were people who believed in theology that Churches needed to be cleansed from the traces of Catholicism.

Puritans were well educated as they are expected to learn the Gospel in order to lead a peaceful life. They traveled from Great Britain to Massachusetts in order to practice and spread Puritanism in America.

Puritans were religiously intolerant and hence they migrated from Netherlands in Great Britain which practiced liberalism.

What is the difference between the middle passage and the triangular trade?
laila [671]
The Middle Passage specific refers to the journey the Africans slaves made from Africa to the Americas. It is called that because it was 2nd trip made by European slaves ships during the Triangular Trade.

The Triangular trade refers to the entire process, and similar to what you described in your question. That is, the European ships traveled to Africa to sell manufactured products for slaves; then these ships took the slaves and continued on across the Atlantic to the Americas (the middle passage), and traded the slaves for raw materials (like cotton) from the colonies; and finally they took these raw materials back to Europe to make clothing and whatever.

In what way did education play a crucial role in the emergence of the middle class?
KatRina [158]

The middle class that emerged consisted of a group of people that included managers, salesmen, engineers, doctors, accountants and other salaried professionals who worked for a living but were better educated than the poor working-class.

The children of those middle-class people did not have to find work to support their families and this created opportunities for education and advancement. This pushed the government to support the growth of higher education. All of this made the middle class remain the solid class until today because people were educating themselves, it also made possible for many people to rise socially, because there were many opportunities available for middle-class children.
