If the government had supported unions instead of management in the late 19th century, the lives of workers would have been much safer and prosperous.

Explanation:

Workers began organizing themselves into Trade Unions in the 19th century to protect their rights and demand better working conditions. These workers had to spend long hours inside the factories, which were <em>dark, dirty and poorly ventilated</em>. In addition, they were <em>badly paid</em>. Most workers did not eat nor sleep well, so they became exhausted. These were the main reasons why they decided to stand against their employers. Unfortunately, a long time passed before they were actually heard. Many workers would have survived and many more would have had a decent life if the government and employers had supported them and allowed them to enjoy the rights they deserved.
