When you draw the diagram, you can form a right triangle.

The hypotenuse is the string where the kite is attached. The long leg is the distance of the stake to where the kite is directly above the ground. The short length is the distance of the kite from the ground.

We shall use sine to find the length of the string to the nearest foot.

sinΘ = opposite / hypotenuse

sin(40°) = 70ft / x
x = 70ft / sin(40°)
x = 108.90 ft

D.) 109 ft.

How to estimate $3472 ÷ 680 and solve problem
alisha [4.7K]
If you'd estimate the numbers, it would be $3500÷700. Because if you look at the tenths place, if the number is higher than 5, than the first digit goes up.
$3500÷700=5

An arithmetic sequence is defined by the general term tn = 19 - (n - 1)18, where n ∈N and n ≥ 1. What is the recursive formula o
vovikov84 [41]
t_n=19-18(n-1)
t_{n-1}=19-18(n-2)
\implies t_n-t_{n-1}=-18(n-1)+18(n-2)
\implies t_n=t_{n-1}-18n+18+18n-36
\implies t_n=t_{n-1}-18

So the recursive formula is

\begin{cases}t_1=19\\t_n=t_{n-1}-18&\text{for }n>1\end{cases}

<span>Mathematically, log</span>ₓ (y)<span><span>  </span>is the number to which you raise 'x' in order to get 'y'.

Since </span>logarithm<span> to </span>base<span> 10 (that is, x = 10) is the common </span><span>logarithm,
log (y) is same as log</span>₁₀ (y).

Therefore, log (y) is the number to which you raise 10 in order to get 'y'.
