The correct answer is B.

In the factories employers paid women one-half to two-thirds of what men doing the same job earned.

Between 1840 and 1850, more women went to work in factories in the United States. They had to face discrimination not only regarding wages.

This necessity for better working conditions led to labor union organizing involving women.

In 1844, employees from Lowell Mill factory organized the Lowell Female Labor Reform Association (LFLRA) having Darah Bagley as the first president.

In 1850, Female Protective Union was established in Cleveland aiming to improve the conditions faced by women in the garment industry.

These organizations were succesfull in improving the life of the working women, but, even today, it is a subject that we must be on alert on a daily basis.

In the 1800 the factories needed workers and since most men did not like that kind of work, there was an opportunity for women to earn. But the women only received ½ or 2/3 of what they paid men for the same work.

Pull factors are the positive aspects of a different country that can encourage people to immigrate waiting for a better life.
