<span>Based on the global stratification model, nations of the former soviet union and its former satellites in eastern Europe are classified as the Industrializing nations.
They are definitely not Third World countries - those are the poorest nations in the world, most of which are found in Africa. They are also not the least industrializing nations, because they are quite industrialized, but not as much as the most industrializing nations either.

Define the 16th Amendment how did it help the government
Svetradugi [14.3K]

Answer:

The 16th Amendment to the constitution to the United States of America was passed in 1909 in the Congress. The Amendment was ratified by the states on February 3,1913. The 16th Amendment gave the government the right to levy an income tax without appointing it in the states on the basis of population. Before the Amendment the only revenue income of federal government used to come from tariffs rather than income taxes. However this amendment was a response to the Pollock vs Farmer loans co. Upon the case the Court ruled that the federal tax is not unconstitutional but government can not levy any tax without appointing the states on the basis of population.

As a result it was a barrier for the Congress to levy. But the 16th Amendment gave constitutional right to the government to levy taxes without appointing the states basis on the population.

This is how the 16th amendment helped the government.

During the Cold War, the notion of __________ kept both the United States and the Soviet Union from using their nuclear weapons,
wolverine [178]

Answer:

c. mutual assured destruction.

Explanation:

Mutual assured destruction (MAD) is a military strategy of the modern world which is based on the principle of deterrence. It is based on the notion that two or more opposing sides possessing nuclear weapons pose a threat to one another of the mass destruction or total destruction. This prevents one side to initiate the first strike. Therefore after the second world war possession of nuclear weapons was considered important but according to this theory use of them led to complete annihilation.
