Mr. White's son felt that the monkey's paw was a big joke (D).

In this quote, “Well, I don't see the money,” said his son, as he picked it up and placed it on the  table, “and I bet I never shall," we can see that the son does not believe that the monkey paw has any magic. He thinks that it is a big joke and will not work.

What is the problem in the lion and the mouse?
Juliette [100K]

Answer:

In the oldest versions, a lion threatens a mouse that wakes him from sleep. The mouse begs forgiveness and makes the point that such unworthy prey would bring the lion no honor. The lion then agrees and sets the mouse free. Later, the lion is netted by hunters. Hearing it roaring, the mouse remembers its clemency and frees it by gnawing through the ropes. The moral of the story is that mercy brings its reward and that there is no being so small that it cannot help a greater.

? Question
Alex73 [517]

Answer:

playful and comical

Explanation:

From the excerpt, the mood is  playful and comical.

This is true because the author revealed that they "pattered pitty-pat, pitty-pat each with feet  and toenails, ears and hair, everything but tails,..." This shows that they were in a playful mood. Also, despite the way they pattered, when they got to the Philadelphia union depot, they had nothing to say. This also added a comical effect in the excerpt.
