Which one is bigger a megalodon shark or a blue whale

English

Megalodon is the largest carnivorous fish known to have existed, and quite possibly the largest shark to have ever lived. It is believed that the average size of the megalodon was between 12 metres (39 ft) and 18 metres (59 ft). But the size of a modern female blue whale is over 30 mtrs (115 feet) which makes so far as we know the largest animal that has ever existed. ( Until we find fossils of something bigger). So the Megalodon was probably bigger than some smaller whales but not the Blue whale. Also since sharks don't have a bony skeleton this size is an estimation based on the assumption that the size to tooth ratio is the same of present large sharks but this could be in error. Also  <span>Despite popular beliefs and myths, the Megaladon might have never existed. I think it did exist though, but either way.. The blue whale shark is the largest animal to have ever existed (as of right now of course :p) and is still extant. The Megaladon is thought to be the largest of most sharks, bigger than the Great White shark. Unfortunately, it's extinct and we still don't have much knowledge on its certain qualities, features, etc, etc </span>

How was Samuel Johnson's dictionary different from previous dictionaries of the English language?
Genrish500 [490]
The correct answer is B. It used literary excerpts to illustrate word usage.

Johnson used excerpts from well known books to show how different words are used which was a completely new idea, revolutionary one, since the previous dictionaries showed what the word mean and were sometimes difficult to understand.

The Rabe of the Lock is composed in which literary form?
ra1l [238]
The R.ape of the Lock is a mock-heroic narrative poem written by Alexander Pope, using the heroic couplet.
A couplet refers to a stanza consisting of two lines only, and heroic means that each of these two lines is written using rhyming iambic pentameters. Iamb means that an unstressed syllable is followed by a stressed one. Pentameter means that there are 5 meters in one line (penta = 5), and given that one meter equals two syllables, pentameter is a line consisting of 10 syllables.

1. What IS the revelation of The Scarlet Letter? How do you interpret it? 2. How has it changed throughout the course of the nov
algol [13]

Answer:

The Scarlet Letter is written by Nathaniel Hawthorne in 1850.

Explanation:

1. The <em>Revelation of The Scarlet Letter</em> in the "The Scarlet Letter" by Nathaniel Hawthorne, is Dimmesdale reveals at the scaffold his sin. he confesses before the crowd what he should have revealed seven years before, that he is the father of Pearl. And that he deserves punishment.

My interpretation to this is that though Dimmesdale correctly confessed his sin, which he should have done earlier, but the punishment he chose for himself was not right. God is a merciful God, if he had confessed his sin, God would have definitely forgiven him. Just like God forgave King David. But the condition is of course not to repeat after repenting.

2. The symbolism of Scarlet Letter "A" changed over the course of the novel. At first it represented for Adulteress, then it changed to "Able.

3. The final stand on scaffold is vital as it reveals that Dimmesdale was the  one, the fellow-sinner of Hester.

4. Pearl is changed into a woman after she kisses Dimmesdale.

5. The townspeople interpret this by saying that not only Hester but a minister can fall victim of sin.

6. Chillingworth dies <em>"withered up, shrivelled away and almost vanished from mortal sight.."</em>

Part of a critique that points out the main objective of a work
zepelin [54]
To critique a piece of writing is to do the following:

describe: give the reader a sense of the writer’s overall purpose and intent
analyze: examine how the structure and language of the text convey its meaning
interpret: state the significance or importance of each part of the text
assess: make a judgment of the work’s worth or value
FORMATTING A CRITIQUE
Here are two structures for critiques, one for nonfiction and one for fiction/literature.

The Critique Format for Nonfiction
Introduction

name of author and work
general overview of subject and summary of author's argument
focusing (or thesis) sentence indicating how you will divide the whole work for discussion or the particular elements you will discuss
Body

objective description of a major point in the work
detailed analysis of how the work conveys an idea or concept
interpretation of the concept
repetition of description, analysis, interpretation if more than one major concept is covered
Conclusion

overall interpretation
relationship of particular interpretations to subject as a whole
critical assessment of the value, worth, or meaning of the work, both negative and positive
The Critique Format for Fiction/Literature
Introduction

name of author and work
brief summary/description of work as a whole
focusing sentence indicating what element you plan to examine
general indication of overall significance of work
Body

literal description of the first major element or portion of the work
detailed analysis
interpretation
literal description of second major element
detailed analysis
interpretation (including, if necessary, the relationship to the first major point)
and so on
Conclusion

overall interpretation of the elements studied
consideration of those elements within the context of the work as a whole
critical assessment of the value, worth, meaning, or significance of the work, both positive and negative
You may not be asked in every critique to assess a work, only to analyze and interpret it. If you are asked for a personal response, remember that your assessment should not be the expression of an unsupported personal opinion. Your interpretations and your conclusions must be based on evidence from the text and follow from the ideas you have dealt with in the paper.

Remember also that a critique may express a positive as well as a negative assessment. Don't confuse critique with criticize in the popular sense of the word, meaning “to point out faults.”
