The example of the gun loaded with cigarettes is an example of Pathos rhetorical appeal.

Answer: Option 3

Explanation:

Apart from literary writing works, many advertising companies also makes uses of rhetorical appeals to persuade its audience.

Pathos is a type of rhetorical appeal which is based on a person’s emotion to influence them. ‘Gun loaded with cigarettes’ this depicts that cigarettes are being loaded on a revolver and gun is a symbol of death.

Thus it makes a person aware of the fact that smoking kills. So if such rhetorical appeals are used, it warns a person about the effects of smoking.

HELP! Does somebody know how to write a strong introduction? Please message me because I'm having a very hard time! I'm going to
Anit [1.1K]

Explanation:

I was always good at writing. You should start your introduction of with something that will grab the readers attention. For example, you could say "Tim and I(the two boys) have always been afraid of clowns, so why did we decide to go to the circus? Good question-it all started 3 weeks prior to us going." That's not a really good one, but i hope you get the idea!

I'm writing a story about a girl running from her murderous twin who will do absolutely anything so he can murder her. He's obse
Flauer [41]
Oh boy.

If this is story is planned to end with crazy plot twist i suggest you try to figure that out.

I'm thinking that the girl maybe early adult is living in an apartment with her (insert mental illness) twin and is put into several life threatening scenarios such as car crashes, drugged drinks etc. She doesn't know what is going on but she eventually, though means of spying or accidental, she learns that it's her twin. Maybe some twilight zone hitchhiker he keeps appearing anywhere sort of ordeal. I don't really know what genre you're going for but I think a very realistic interpretation and non-paranormal would be pretty awesome.

I don't have many ideas right now on murder motives besides some sort of schizophrenia or brainwash/temptation. But the story sounds great.

Best of luck!

What is an adverbial phrase

lions [1.4K]

Answer:

In linguistics, an adverbial phrase ("AdvP") is a multi-word expression operating adverbially: its syntactic function is to modify other expressions, including verbs, adjectives, adverbs, adverbials, and sentences. Adverbial phrases can be divided into two types: complement adverbs and modifier adverbs. For example, in the sentence She sang very well, the expression very well is an adverbial phrase, as it modifies the verb to sing. More specifically, the adverbial phrase very well contains two adverbs, very and well: while well modifies the verb to convey information about the manner of singing (for example, She sang well versus She sang badly), very is a degree modifier that conveys information about the degree to which the action of singing well was accomplished (for example, Not only did she sing well, she sang very well).
