In the speech Abraham Lincoln invoked the principles of human equality contained in the Declaration of Independence and connected the sacrifices of the Civil War with the desire for a new birth of freedom, as well as the all-important preservation of the Union created in 1776 and its idea of self-government.

-Lincoln paid tribute to the Union Soldiers. They sacrificed their lives for equality.
-Reminded the people that war was meant to keep democracy and freedom alive

Non-alignment was a policy developed by emerging 3rd world leaders in the 1950's. It was an attempt to avoid being particularly aligned with either of the two superpowers, the USA and Soviet Union in the context of The Cold War.

Countries such as Pakistan and India, along with others such as Ghana and Indonesia sought to play off both superpowers against each other as the Americans and Soviets sought to court these emerging countries in areas such as economic relations and strategic bases.

Mayan Queen and Consort of Yaxchilan, Lady Xoc is considered to be the most powerful woman of the Maya Civilization. In Yaxchilan, structure 23 is seen as the place of Lady Xoc's. This structure was dedicated to her by Itzamnaaj Bʻalam II, a Mayan king popularly known as Shield Jaguar. The structure 23 does not depict warfare which differentiates it from other structures build during Jaguar's time. In the Lintel 23, Communication with Ancestors, Blood Sacrifices and preparing the King for Battle is seen performing by Lady Xoc in the presence of the King Jaguar. In Lintel 24 and 25, Lady Xoc is seen performing blood sacrifice in one or another way.
